Greetings Everyone!
Have you ever heard of the saying, “To know her is to love her”? Well…, the first time I met Silvia I was immediately touched by her deep concern and compassion for others.
She constantly gives her time and energy volunteering in the community and never seems to get tired of giving. I was excited to hear that she was going to start sharing yoga in Spanish here at Universal Spirit Yoga, because there are so many people who want to learn yoga but may not be fluent in English just yet. Silvia took the YTT Training here at Universal Spirit with Poonam Gupta and feels that it is her calling to make sure no one is denied the chance to start learning this practice.
So, of course when our paths crossed again, I asked Silvia to write a little about herself and this new yoga class that is now being offered Friday mornings at 11 am. Please read below and don’t forget to send in your comments, we really love them!

Hola,
Hello,
I’m Silvia and today I want to talk to you about my experience with yoga. First of all I have to tell you that I never thought that this practice was for me. I hurt my self 5 years ago and started having health problems to the extent that I thought my work life was finished. I had constant pain, all the time in my low back as well as arms and hands. Then I went to consult an Ayurveda doctor, Mr. Poonam. She recommended a series of Yoga poses to help with the pain and restore balance to my body. The truth is that I had no idea of what she was asking me but when I started getting better it woke up in me interest to learn a little more about this path. Coincidentally, there was a 200 Yoga Teacher Training program starting up and I decided to join. That was the beginning of my journey as Yoga teacher, and now I am so honored to be able to offer classes to others.
Thanks,
silvis
