Dandasana is a basic seated pose. It looks simple, but can be extremely challenging and make you sweat! When done properly, Dandasana will activate muscles of your legs, back, core, neck and shoulders. It stretches the toes, ankles, feet, shins, calves, hamstrings, quads, lower back, shoulders and neck. It is a grounding pose which is the foundation of all the seated poses. If it is hard for you to sit with a straight back, place a folded blanket or bolster under your hips.
