Susanne McCormick, LMT, Reflexologist An Integrative Approach to Health and Wellness through Massage Therapy and Myofascial Release Years ago I studied and practiced a massage technique called “Rebalancing” in British Columbia, Canada, with a focus on Deep Tissue Massage and Joint Release. Recently, I have decided to return to the massage field and am now offering an integrative approach of holistic massage with a strong focus on Myofascial Release. My goal as a massage therapist is to minimize stress, reduce pain, inprove mobility, encourage relaxation and increase vitality, which all leads to reduced internal stress. I am happy and excited to offer the following services at the Universal Yoga Studio:
❥ Myofascial Release Approach as taught by John F. Barnes Applying gentle sustained pressure to release restrictions in the fascia (connective tissue) of the body to eliminate pain and restore motion.
❥ Swedish Massage An enjoyable circulatory massage that helps relieve tension and reduces stress by using a variety of gentle strokes.
❥ Deep Tissue Massage Helps people with chronic pain to relieve tension by affecting the deeper muscles in the body.
❥ Trigger Point Therapy A procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points, or knots of muscle that form when muscles do not relax.
❥ Reflexology Massage An ancient Chinese technique that uses pressure point massage on the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body.
