Sharon began practicing yoga in 1997 to remedy chronic back and neck pain due to postural misalignment and sports related injuries. After considerable improvement, she realized that the key to health and well being lay in the regular practice of yoga. Since 1999, Sharon devoted countless hours studying with senior teachers to learn the methods of B.K.S. Iyengar and to share this knowledge with the Naperville community. She now holds an Intermediate Junior 1 certification. She is grateful to her main teachers Lois Steinberg and Chris Saudek as well as Patricia Walden, Manuso Manos, John Schumacher, Laurie Blakeney and Kathleen Wright.
The Iyengar method is designed for those who value precise and thorough instruction. Effective sequencing and props are used to help align and support the body so that EVERYBODY, young and old, flexible and stiff, fit and not so fit, can enjoy the benefits of yoga safely. Teachers of this method are the most rigorously trained and tested in the industry. Check out Sharon’s class offerings on the Universal Spirit Yoga schedule and find a class that suits you best.
“It is amazing to me just how limitless the subject of yoga is, how readily adaptable, and how completely grounding the principles of yoga are. I am very grateful to provide this invaluable gift of yoga to every student”.
Sharon is a Naperville resident, married, and a mom to 3 grown kids.
She has an M.B.A. In Management.
